De Rijp

Located in the scenic North Holland countryside, this historic gem is a picture-perfect destination for travelers seeking authentic charm, rich history, and a serene atmosphere. De Rijp was once a thriving hub of trade and whaling during the Dutch Golden Age. Its history is beautifully preserved in the village’s canals and 17th-century gabled houses, which reflect its prosperous past. The density of these monuments in this tiny village is amazing. The Town Hall (Raadhuis), built in 1630, is an architectural masterpiece, and the old white bridges over the water complete the scene.
